NEW PRESS
Well our wines have done it again! Antonio Galloni, the founder and publisher of Vinous.com reviewed a few wines last January while visiting Sonoma County. Smith Story Wine Cellars in the March report:
91pts. 2014 Thorn Ridge Vineyard, Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast $80
The 2014 Pinot Noir Thorn Ridge is another super appealing wine from Smith Story. Expressive earthy and floral notes lend aromatic nuance to the juicy red toned flavors. Creamy and expansive on the palate, yet also very much medium in body, the 2014 has terrific overall balance. Hints of orange, game, tobacco and underbrush add the closing shades of nuance. Drinking window: 2017-2014 -- Antonio Galloni
90pts. 2015 Helluva Vineyard, Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
The 2015 Pinot Noir Helluva Vineyard is a very pretty, delicate Anderson Valley Pinot. Expressive aromatics and soft contours give the wine much of its considerable early appeal. Bright red stone fruit, lifted floral notes and a kick of orange zest are all nicely woven together in this attractive, mid-weight Pinot. Drinking window: 2017-2022. - Antonio Galloni.
Inventory is limited but available on both Pinot Noirs. Click here to purchase.
LIVING THE DREAM...one day at a time.
So much more to tell you all, we are energized each day by your support and enthusiasm. It's been an intense first quarter with moving our home (we're living among farms and vineyards now in the RRV), opening the tasting room, obtaining our import license (Eric Story Selections) and going through an equity capital raise. In the middle of all this, we've opened at least 100 new accounts (a special thank you to our new Texas wholesale partner Southern Glazers for KILLING it, we signed on a 40 year old, dry-farmed RRV Sauvignon Blanc family-owned vineyard to our grape-grower portfolio, bottled about 1200 cases of wine and have had the honor and great pleasure to begin working with Third Leaf Partners.
As of today we've uploaded the last allocation of our Spring 2017 Wine Release for re-orders and for new folks to purchase who didn't have a chance earlier this year. And yes...we hear you, our 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon release this fall will be handled with extra-TLC for those requesting to purchase "wine futures" from us to ensure your allocation...details coming soon. We're off to make another pot of coffee now...
Thank you for being a part of Our Story.
Love, Eric and Ali
Founders.
